Information for candidates

For the MS program

1. Final interview schedule for MS candidates available here. Candidates are requested to be available for contact 30 minutes before their interview time. Other details will be communicated by email.
2. Candidates are requested to ensure they have access to internet connectivity adequate to maintain a 15 minute long video call and a small (2'x3') whiteboard that is clearly visible behind them during the interview.
3. Candidates are requested to ensure that they are undisturbed during the duration of the interview, and that they join the interview video conference on time. We will share the video conferencing details by email
4. Candidates may contact individual faculty members in advance of the interview for information about potential research topics and thesis ideas.
5. Anyone who satisfies the cutoffs given below for MS candidates but has not been shortlisted may please contact devpriya@iitk.ac.in urgently

Cutoffs

Candidates have to clear individual cutoffs in both COGJET papers to qualify for the shortlist. If a GEN candidate has 80 in Paper 1 and 6 in Paper 2, they don't qualify. If a GEN candidate has 55 in Paper 1 and 30 in Paper 2, they qualify.

• JRF candidates with valid score in the category and qualification for assistanceship or JRF, and a qualifying exam in related discipline are also shortlisted.
• CFTI candidates with CPI>8/10 are also shortlisted
• Sponsored candidates are also shortlisted

For the PhD program

2. Candidates are requested to ensure they have access to internet connectivity adequate to maintain a 45 minute long video call and a small (2'x3') whiteboard that is clearly visible behind them during the interview.
3. Candidates are requested to ensure that they are undisturbed during the duration of the interview, and that they join the interview video conference on time. We will share the video conferencing details by email
4. Candidates are requested to contact individual faculty members in advance of the interview to discuss potential research topics and thesis ideas. Interaction with faculty members prior to the actual interview will contribute to candidates' scores towards final selection.

JRF

• General: CPI>8/10, percent marks > 70
• OBC-NCL/EWS: CPI>7.2/10, percent marks > 63%
• SC/ST: CPI>6/10, percent marks > 60% (minimum Institute requirement)

CFTI

• Students with qualifying degree from CFTI with CPI>8/10
• CFTI candidates with CPI>8/10 are also shortlisted

• Sponsored candidates are also shortlisted
